The Greater Madison Area PCC kicked off it's 40th Anniversary year in grand fashion with a successful Annual Meeting and Breakfst event at the Olbrich Botanical Gardens in Madison on Thursday, February 9, 2023.
The event was attended by nearly 70 GMAPCC members and other special guests despite a major winter storm moving through the area. Everyone was treated to an excellent breakfast buffet and some great information from our three presenters. USPS Wisconsin District Manager, Jeff Drake spoke about the USPS's "Delivering for America" plan and the service improvements that are being realized as the plan progresses. Jim Toth from 6AM Marketing gave a presentation on being creative with Direct Mail Marketing campaigns, and Mike Filipski spoke about the Business Customer Gateway and Small Business Tools. The GMAPCC also handed out their local PCC awards for the Industry Person of the Year - Kari Ripp-Rosenstiel of Colony Brands; the Postal Person of the Year - Jeff Braaksma, the GMAPCC administrator and USPS Customer Relations Coordinator in Madison; and the Industry of the Year - Colony Brands.
Special thanks to Industry members and USPS leadership from the Green Bay and Milwaukee areas who attended the meeting, and to Da Sheik Woodard, USPS Customer Outreach Specialist from Washington D.C. who gathered video and interviews from attendees to be used at the National Postal Forum (NPF) in Charlotte N.C. in May 2023.
For the second time in four years the GMAPCC was recognized as the top Small Market PCC in the country at a ceremony at the National PCC Programs Office in Washington D.C. on July 12, 2022.
The 10th Annual GMAPCC Golf Outing was a day to remember! The weather was perfect, the course was beautiful, and a great time was had by all!
Nearly 60 people attended this year's golf scramble which was hosted by the challenging Bridges Golf Course in Madison. And while the marshes on the course claimed a fair amount of GMAPCC golf balls... 272 to be exact... a fabulous time was had by all! The atmosphere was electric, and the food and refreshments were delicious thanks to the attentive Bridges staff. Many hole contest and door prizes were awarded, and there were even prizes for sinking a long putt into a mailbox!
The GMAPCC would like to extend a sincere "thank you" to all who provided door prizes, hole sponsorships, and/or contributed in some other way to this popular event. An extra special "thank you" also goes out to Tom Diring from United Mailing Services for all of the time and effort he committed to the golf outing again this year. We can't wait for 2023!
The GMAPCC's Industry Co-chair Rob Hanks took home the PCC Industry Member of the Year Bronze Award at the National PCC Program Office awards ceremony in Washington D. C. on July 12, 2022. Congratulations, Rob!
